We put the DNC in DANCE!

The Wake Project in conjunction with area choreographers and the Quasimodo Project will be dancing around Charlotte as part of the DNC.  Keep an eye out for us when you're uptown :-)

Take Class with Camerin Allgood McKinnon

Camerin Allgood McKinnon, artistic director of The Wake Project is teaching adult modern classes at Open Door Studios for the fall semester.  Camerin teaches Safety Release Technique which was created by BJ Sullivan, who is currently a professor at UNCG.

"Safety Release Technique combines the health practicalities of human movement with the breadth and depth of artistic possibility. SRT skillfully blends multiple layers of movement principles while informing dancing with a mixture of somatic and release applications."- BJ Sullivan

Classes begin on the floor developing core strength and ideas of circularity and continuous flow, and slowly move to standing and phrase work.  In addition to teaching a technique class, Camerin believes in offering opportunities for students to be artists playing with phrase work and music.

Shin length or longer pants and long sleeved shirts are recommended to protect the skin from the floor.

Classes:
Tuesdays: 10-11:30am
Wednesdays:  7:30- 8:45pm
Class is $15/ $10 for professional dancers/ discount available with the purchase of a class card
